Philomena's FROG URN WINS 1ST PLACE AT SHOW

Awarded 1st Place in a 3 dimensional mosaic category for this striking urn.  Created using beads from old jewellery, kiln fired bullseye glass, vitreous glass, dichroic glass and ceramic tile.  I used Ceramic tiles as the background with a random pattern allowed alot of freedom.  I have been asked 'How do you manage to stick the tiles on without them falling down?'  Simple answer:  I found some old cushions and towels and propped the urn on its side. Important  Seal your terracotta pots inside and out to ensure that your creation will last for years. Water based adhesives break down when moisture gets in.... and your tiles will just pop off.
